Photoshop Boredom.

You must know how boring monday and tuesday night are when you're alone with nothing to do. That's why I love photoshop (for the most part). When I'm bored and not lazy, I make pretty little diddies. I made a banner for my Harlow Black photos and a banner for my business.

I've started a promotion for my services from tomorrow until November 30th where people can get a photo shoot done for either $40 $60 or $80, depending on what they want.
$40 - Regular photo shoot (includes flash photography without studio lighting)
$60 - Event photography (with exceptions to weddings and very large events)
$80 - Photo shoots with Studio Lighting (includes flash photography)
This will help gain some income so I can save for some of my own studio equipment and stop renting. It won't do too bad for my portfolio either.
I have a photo shoot with my friend Val tonight - look out for those photos in a couple days :)

Harlow Black

At 4:30pm on September 24th, I met up with my cousin Natalya Willy outside of the Harlow Black Vintage Boutique.
I was asked by Natalya to photograph the behind the scenes process of a fashion show that the boutique was participating in. I met all the models and ladies of Harlow Black; all of them were amazingly friendly and beautiful. I also met Ivy Lam, a extremely talented hair and makeup artist.
The models were also born naturals in front of the camera. They all understood that I was there to shoot candids (without me even telling them!!) and they looked beautiful and natural. I couldn't have been more happy.
The models were Carly & Jo (sisters in a country band), Nicole (a dancer), Caitlin (a former model/actress) and Jill.
The fashion show was hectic but an amazing experience for me as a photographer. It took my event photography to a whole other level.

Amy S.

I had a fun little shoot with one of my good friends, Amy S, in December 2008. She asked me to do a Marilyn Monroe inspired photo shoot (because she is in love with Marilyn Monroe). Of course, I said OF COURSE!
I set up a makeshift studio in my bedroom with a white bed sheet taped to my walls and my mother's bedside lamp for studio lighting. Talk about ghetto (but this is how I get by on a student budget). It just goes to show that a little tape, dedication and imagination can really benefit in the long run.

Darnel Morgan

Yesterday, I had a fantastic shoot for a singer named Darnel Morgan. His song has been literally stuck in my head for a week; it's so good.
I went to Vistek to go pick up the lighting, only to find out that the deposit for the lights was waaaay to much my for poor fragile Visa card. Thus, we had to make due without the studio lights. BUT, it looks like we did pretty well without them! It took a while to style Darnel, only because he didn't bring his own clothes to the shoot; we had to use some of Aaron Henry's clothes. After about an hour of styling and other necessities, we started the shoot. An hour and half later, we had 450 shots and a happy photographer. Darnel even said that he doesn't want anyone else to do his photography except me :) I know I'm supposed to take that with a grain of salt, but it's nice to hear as an artist.

More Britney Mae & August Wedding Bells.

I took the time to edit the Britney Mae shoot.
And even made some of the wedding photos black and white; more of a classic look, you know?

August Wedding Bells

In July sometime, the lovely Shaun Montano asked me to assist him with a wedding. He told me that it would be in the beginning of August; Caribana Parade Day to be exact. Although I was quite reluctant to miss yet another hot, musical and colourful day, I agreed to assist.
So on that very hot August day we missioned from Scarborough to Brampton to photograph the day's events. I didn't realize, however, that it was going to be an outdoor wedding so I didn't dress for the sun. I wore all black, eek.

Anyways, it was an awesome day weather-wise. The wedding started a bit late and everyone was stressing pretty hard. But otherwise...it was a gorgeous wedding. I'm happy with the pictures that I was able to take, even though I was just the assistant.
